THE Southern 80 could be stopped if spectators swim during the race.
Moama Water Sports Club issued the warning this afternoon after people were spotted swimming at the end of Winbi Rd on both sides of the river.
There was also a tarzan rope at the end of Braund Rd on the Victorian side of the river.
"The Southern 80 ski race runs the risk of being stopped if spectators keep doing the wrong thing by swimming during the race," Southern 80 said on its Facebook page.
"Swimmers pose a huge risk to everyone involved in our great race and we ask you to keep out of the water at all times and encourage your mates to do the same.
"Don’t be the person who stops the Southern 80."
